Micabliss Persians

About Us

We have been breeding cats mainly Persians for these last 15 years. I have started with a Black Persian cat named Blissto from which then it turned to be one of my hobbies. I live on a sunny island – Malta in the southern part of it. I like to live with cats around me and in fact I have created a cattery for the kittens and cats upstairs, where the cats have practically everything from sofa, radio, tv and all the other needs they require throughout the day. I always wanted to have my cats living in luxury and treated in the best way ever. Our cattery is registered with WCF, TICA and FIFE.

We take care of our cats in all aspects. As regards health we give them the vaccinations needed and if any of our cats feels sick we go straight to the vet so that they can be given the medications needed. Our cats are all AD – PKD (Austosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease) tested. Tests were done at Langford Veterinary PCR Laboratory UK. These were done under the supervision of a Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Martin Debattista.

We have been working with many bloodlines abroad, especially with Italian ones. We have worked with the following bloodlines which are the top ones found worldwide. These are: Diciotto Carati, Emozioni, Settiemo Cileo, Made In Italy, Falco DÓro, Bhakti, Emar, Old Colours, Stunart, Eurecat, Latin Lover, Harwood, Tombrock, Borgo Ala, Oxalis,Babuschka, Barmont, Digit, Cancun, Kuori, Welcome and others. At the moment we are specializing in tabbies and solid colours as regards Persians and Exotics and we are trying to produce beautiful Himalayans too.

Due to many contacts we have made through this feline world, we would like to thank many of our friends who had helped us through in order to arrive to the desired standard we have reached today. Special Thanks goes to our friends Antonella Bonetti and Stefano Quaglia breeders of Diciotto Carati Cattery which the gave us the first Show Cat in our Cattery, IC Diciotto Carrati Isidoro of Micabliss which unfortunately was passed away on Saturday, 31st July 2010 at the age of 5 years. We still miss him so much. These two splendid friends, Antonella and Stefano gave us a lot of information about breeding, grooming, taking care, making an adequate living for cats among other things. They were also the first persons who helped us during our first shows which the MFGC has organized. Besides these two persons, we would like to thank Eleonora Rinchiari and Roberto Cessana breeders of Emozioni Cattery which helped us as well in our breeding programme, especially for giving us the opportunity to get one of the most beautiful cats found on the Island – Master GIC Eurecat Dior of Micabliss. Lastly we would like to thank also our special friends Roberta Colombo and Domenico Falasca breeders of Falco D’Óro Cattery which are helping us at the moment to prepare our cats during the International Cat Show held by the MFGC, since we need ample time for the organization.

Together with my wife, and other friends, Mary Rose and the late Francis Zammit, we founded the Malta Feline Guardians Club (MFGC) five years ago. In fact this year we are celebrating the fifth anniversary for the club. It has been a difficult time at the beginning in order to create everything from scratch, but during these five years we worked hard and struggled to reach where we are today.

Many persons helped both locally and abroad. Two of our friends, mentioned above – Antonella and Stefano gave us a lot of hints and ideas in the organization of cat shows since they both have a lot of experience in this field, Stefano being a head steward for several years with ANFI. Another person who gave so much help was Laura Ghirimoldi, who she also owns a club by herself in Italy under the auspices of WCF. She gave us all the rudiments we needed to set up a club and to manage the whole show. Although with a particular character she was a good instructress. Also many persons locally helped and gave their support – especially the committee who works throughout the year by attending meetings and working hard at home so that we meet the requirements needed to set up a cat show.
